JUANA PORTACELLI HEALTH CENTER
The Juana Portaceli Occupational Health Center is the medical unit of the Integrated Occupational Health and Prevention Service, which performs its own tasks established in the occupational risk prevention regulations and provides medical assistance, medical advice and health promotion to the entire university community.
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY UNIT
Ending poverty everywhere and in all its forms is the greatest challenge the world faces. In this regard, the university must contribute directly to promoting the development of strategies and actions that lead to a development model framed around eradicating extreme poverty.
The concept of poverty encompasses various dimensions of deprivation related to human needs: people’s right to satisfy basic needs, such as food (SDG 2), health (SDG 3), education (SDG 4), sufficient economic income and decent work (SDG 8), having clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), participating in decision-making (SDG 16).
Poverty and inequality (SDG 10) are intrinsically related dimensions, since poverty does not exist in absolute terms, but rather in relation to a reality and a specific context.

The university promotes initiatives to ensure that all people fulfill their right to sufficient and nutritionally adequate food, both on and off campus.
Obtaining food has direct repercussions on people’s health and well-being (SDG 3), affects better academic performance (SDG 4), depends on access to clean water (SDG 6) and the existence of life on land and uncontaminated marine ecosystems (SDG 14 and 15).

In addition to training professionals in the fields of health, generating research and contributing to the development of medical and pharmacological products, universities must establish spaces for safe and healthy coexistence.
In this regard, we have included two fundamental areas in this Sustainable Development Goal: on the one hand, health, referring to the provision of medical services and health surveillance in the university community and, on the other, an area linked to the promotion practices and healthy habits, such as sports.

In addition to a fundamental human right, equality between genders is the necessary basis for achieving a fairer, more peaceful, more prosperous, and sustainable world.
Ensuring equal opportunities for women and girls in access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes, among others, will promote more sustainable economies and benefit society as a whole.
Therefore, a cross-disciplinary relationship is established with many Sustainable Development Goals such as: SDG 1. No Poverty; SDG 2. Zero Hunger; SDG 3. Good Health and Well-being; SDG 4. Quality Education; SDG 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 10. Reduced Inequalities; SDG 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 16. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. In relation to the university environment, we will focus on highlighting the policies and resources that the university allocates to promoting gender equality and combating discriminatory practices in this area, both inside and outside the university community.
