Public information belongs to the citizens, who have the right to demand it, and the University, as a public entity, has the duty to make it available to them in the most didactic way possible.
The UPV Transparency Portal is an opportunity to bring the information we generate closer to the citizens, to whom we are accountable.
UNIVERSITY OMBUDSMAN
The University Ombudsman acts as a representative of the Faculty for the protection of the rights and freedoms of the university community before the actions of the bodies and services of the UPV. It must take into account the values of freedom, equality, justice, solidarity and pluralism, with full respect for sustainable development, which inspire the actions of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
LEGAL SERVICES
Under the direction of the Secretary General, the university’s Legal Services provide support and legal advice to the different university bodies and represent and defend UPV’s interests before all kinds of people and entities, as well as before the jurisdictional bodies.
Many of the problems that limit economic and social development, as well as the eradication of poverty and inequality, are related to weak and ineffective institutional systems.
Proper management of public policies and greater citizen participation in public affairs are necessary conditions for achieving adequate levels of well-being.
This goal is interrelated with almost all the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17.
The university must base institutional governance on the guiding principles of justice, transparency, democracy, equality and participation. In addition, they must contribute to the culture of peace in society by being a meeting space.
